Test Tube Labeling

Test tube labeling is the practice of marking laboratory tubes so their contents, conditions, and intended use remain identifiable throughout a chemistry experiment. Labels typically record information such as the sample name, concentration, date, experiment number, or hazard status, using writing or materials that remain legible under laboratory handling and storage conditions. Accurate identification prevents sample mix-ups, supports safe chemical handling, and preserves the connection between observations and the correct substance or reaction. In teaching laboratories and research settings, consistent labeling improves reproducibility, simplifies sample tracking, and strengthens the reliability of analytical results.

2023

Source: Rachel Liu, BAO, MBBCh, Emergency Medicine, Yale School of Medicine, New Haven, Connecticut, USA Tube thoracostomy (chest tube placement) is a procedure during which a hollow tube is inserted into the thoracic cavity for drainage of fluid or air. Emergency chest tube insertion is performed for definitive treatment of tension pneumothorax, traumatic hemothorax, large-volume pleural effusions, and empyemas. Irrespective of the cause of air and fluid accumulation in the pleural space, the...

Uterine Tubes

2024

The uterine or fallopian tubes function as the conduit through which oocytes travel from the ovaries to the uterus. Each fallopian tube measures approximately 10 to 13 cm long and is anatomically divided into the infundibulum, ampulla, isthmus, and interstitial part (or intramural segment). The infundibulum is characterized by its funnel shape and features extensions called fimbriae which reach towards the peritoneal cavity. These fimbriae play a critical role during ovulation as they extend...

Endotracheal Tube Extubation

Endotracheal tube extubation is a critical procedure in weaning patients from mechanical ventilation. It involves physically removing the oral or nasal endotracheal (ET) tube, marking the final step in liberating a patient from ventilatory support. Procedure Extubation removes the endotracheal tube (ETT) from the patient on mechanical ventilation. It requires a well-coordinated, multidisciplinary approach involving physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.

Here we report dual labeling of neural crest cells and blood vessels using chickGFP neural tube intraspecies grafting combined with intra-vascular DiI injection. This experimental technique allows us to simultaneously visualize and study development of the NCC-derived (enteric) nervous system and the vascular system, during organogenesis.

This protocol presents a step-by-step guide for the Simultaneous Label-free Autofluorescence Multi-harmonic (SLAM) microscopic technique, including details on how to generate the laser light source, prepare a tissue sample, conduct imaging, and analyze the data. SLAM advances nonlinear microscopy by measuring four complementary label-free contrasts to investigate the tissue microenvironment.
