Roi Analysis Method

ROI analysis is a method for evaluating whether an investment generates sufficient value relative to its cost, commonly expressed as (gain from investment − investment cost) / investment cost. In medicine, it compares the financial and operational consequences of interventions, technologies, services, or research programs by accounting for implementation expenses, resource use, savings, and measurable returns over a defined period. By organizing these inputs into a consistent comparison, the method supports decisions about funding, adoption, and resource allocation, while helping distinguish economic efficiency from clinical effectiveness; a favorable ROI does not by itself establish that an intervention improves patient outcomes or equity.

Mixed Costs Analysis Using the High-Low Method

2026

Mixed costs contain both fixed costs, which remain constant regardless of activity, and variable costs, which change with production or sales volume. One simple method for separating these costs is the high-low method. The high-low method estimates the variable and fixed portions of a mixed cost by using the highest and lowest activity levels during a given period. It assumes a linear relationship between cost and activity. The variable cost per unit is calculated by dividing the change in total...

2014

Methods for the manipulation and analysis of NF-κB-dependent adult hippocampal neurogenesis are described. A detailed protocol is presented for a dentate gyrus-dependent behavioral test (termed the spatial pattern separation-Barnes maze) for the investigation of cognitive outcome in mice. This technique should also help enable investigations in other experimental settings.

Knowledge of the composition of the phloem sap as well as the mechanism of its loading and long-distance transport is essential for the understanding of long-distance signaling in plant development and stress/pathogen response and of assimilate transport. This manuscript describes the collection of phloem exudates using the EDTA-facilitated method.

Automated Analysis of C. elegans Fluorescence Images using SegElegans

Here we provide instructions on effectively utilizing SegElegans, a deep learning system we developed for the automated segmentation of individual worms in widefield microscopy images, for subsequent use in image analysis software such as ImageJ. We provide ways to use the system both online and offline.
