Biomedical Text Mining

Biomedical text mining is the computational analysis of scientific and clinical language to extract structured information from biomedical literature and related text sources. It uses natural language processing, including entity recognition, terminology normalization, relation extraction, and information retrieval, to identify concepts such as genes, proteins, metabolites, diseases, and interactions within unstructured documents. In biochemistry, these methods help researchers connect molecular entities with biochemical functions, pathways, experimental findings, and disease mechanisms across large bodies of research. Text mining can support hypothesis generation, evidence organization, and literature-based discovery while reducing the time required to locate relevant results and reveal relationships that may be difficult to detect manually.

Zebrafish as an Alternative Vertebrate Model Organism in Biomedical Research

2026

All animal procedures described here must be conducted in accordance with institutional animal ethics guidelines and approved by IACUC. All procedures must follow the principles of the 3Rs—Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement—and must be performed by trained personnel. Zebrafish (Danio rerio) are widely used as an alternative vertebrate model organism in biomedical research. Their genetic similarity to humans, rapid development, and suitability for large-scale studies make them valuable tools...
