Implantation Procedure

Implantation is the reproductive process in which a developing blastocyst attaches to and becomes embedded within the uterine endometrium, establishing contact with maternal tissue. During implantation, the blastocyst hatches from the zona pellucida, while trophoblast cells adhere to the uterine lining and invade it as the endometrium undergoes decidualization. In biology, implantation procedures may involve transferring an embryo into a prepared uterus or examining implantation sites in experimental animals. These approaches help researchers study early embryonic development, maternal–embryo signaling, placental formation, infertility, and pregnancy-related disorders.
