Hpv Probe Detection

HPV probe detection is a molecular method used to identify human papillomavirus genetic material in cells, tissues, or clinical samples, supporting research on HPV-associated cancers. The technique uses short, labeled nucleic acid probes designed to bind complementary HPV DNA or RNA sequences through specific base pairing; the resulting signal can be measured by fluorescence, microscopy, or other detection systems. In cancer research, probe detection helps determine HPV presence, viral genotype, tissue distribution, and persistence, providing evidence for studying viral oncogenesis and tumor biology. These data can support biomarker development, disease classification, and evaluation of HPV-related changes in experimental and clinical samples.

Probe Hybridization and Signal Amplification in RNA In Situ Hybridization: A Technique for Detecting Specific RNA Sequences in Tissue Sections

2023

This video describes a sequential hybridization strategy that involves hybridizing mRNA probes to specific target mRNA. Following probe hybridization, signal amplification is performed to enhance resolution via reduction of signal-to-noise ratio during RNA-CISH of histological samples.

Early detection of apoptosis may identify at-risk cell populations in a variety of diseases. Here we demonstrate a method to link an early apoptosis-detection protein (Annexin V) to a MRI-detectable iron oxide nanoparticle (SPIO). This method may be extended to other proteins of interest to generate MRI-detectable molecular imaging probes.

2015

Robust detection reagents are of increasing necessity for developing new malaria diagnostic tools. An iridium(III) probe was designed that emits long-lasting luminescent signal in the presence of a histidine-rich malarial protein biomarker. Detection of the protein either in solution or immobilized on a magnetic particle affords flexibility in application.
