Spatial Rna Detection

Spatial RNA detection is a set of molecular methods that identifies RNA molecules while preserving their locations within cells or tissues, revealing how gene expression is organized in space. In these approaches, tissue sections or intact specimens are fixed, permeabilized, and exposed to labeled probes or sequencing-based barcodes that hybridize to target transcripts; imaging or sequencing then assigns each signal to its cellular or tissue position. In cancer research, this spatial information helps map tumor and immune cell states, characterize heterogeneous microenvironments, and connect gene activity with invasive regions or treatment responses. The resulting maps support biomarker discovery and more precise models of tumor biology.
