Regulatory Review

Regulatory review is the systematic evaluation of a clinical study, product, or submission to determine whether it meets applicable laws, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements. Reviewers examine study protocols, informed-consent materials, safety information, manufacturing or quality documentation, and clinical data, then compare the evidence with predefined criteria to identify risks, deficiencies, and required revisions. In clinical research, this process supports decisions about authorization, continuation, labeling, or post-market oversight while protecting participants and strengthening data integrity. Clear documentation and communication among sponsors, investigators, ethics committees, and regulatory agencies help resolve findings and maintain compliance throughout development.

Cis-regulatory Sequences

2020

Cis-regulatory sequences are short fragments of non-coding DNA that are present on the same chromosomes as the genes that they regulate. These fragments serve as binding sites for transcriptional regulators, proteins that are responsible for controlling gene transcription and differential gene expression across cell types in eukaryotes. Cis-regulatory sequences can be close to the gene of interest or thousands of bases away in the DNA sequence; however, those sequences that are further away are...

2026

A systematic review is a rigorous, transparent method for identifying, evaluating, and combining all relevant research to address a specific question. For instance, a review might examine whether exercise reduces anxiety. Unlike narrative reviews, systematic reviews follow predefined protocols to reduce bias and ensure comprehensive coverage of the available evidence. Many follow the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, which include...

Peer review is a central quality-control process in academic publishing. Before research is shared with the scholarly community, experts in the relevant field evaluate manuscripts to ensure that the findings are accurate, original, and methodologically sound. This review process helps maintain the reliability of the scientific record and reinforces trust in published literature. Submission and Editorial Screening The process begins when an author submits a manuscript to an academic journal. The...
