System Performance Analysis

System performance analysis is the systematic evaluation of how effectively an engineered system meets defined requirements under specified operating conditions. It examines factors such as response time, throughput, reliability, resource utilization, and energy consumption by collecting measurements, modeling system behavior, and comparing results with performance targets. Engineers use benchmarking, monitoring, simulation, and bottleneck analysis to identify constraints and assess how components interact under normal or stressful workloads. These findings guide design improvements, capacity planning, troubleshooting, and optimization across mechanical, electrical, software, and integrated systems, helping improve efficiency, dependability, safety, and overall lifecycle performance.
