Luminex Bead Array

A Luminex bead array is a multiplex immunoassay that measures multiple analytes in a single sample, making it valuable for profiling immune responses and infectious disease markers. The assay uses sets of microspheres encoded with distinct fluorescent signatures and coupled to specific capture antibodies or antigens; target molecules bind to these reagents, and a labeled detector produces a signal that the analyzer assigns to each bead type and quantifies. In immunology and infection research, Luminex bead arrays support simultaneous measurement of cytokines, antibodies, and pathogen-associated molecules, conserving sample volume while revealing coordinated responses, disease signatures, and treatment effects.
