Glissonean System

The Glissonean system is the connective-tissue framework that surrounds and organizes the liver’s portal triads, including branches of the portal vein, hepatic artery, and bile duct. These structures travel together within Glisson’s capsule and divide into intrahepatic pedicles that supply defined liver segments and sectors. In surgery, identifying and controlling a Glissonean pedicle can temporarily reduce inflow to its territory, producing an ischemic demarcation that guides anatomical hepatectomy while helping preserve surrounding parenchyma. Understanding this system supports precise treatment of liver tumors and other hepatobiliary conditions, and provides an anatomical basis for safer resection planning and intraoperative navigation.

Laparoscopic Anatomic S7+S8d Resection Preserving Inferior Right Hepatic Vein and S6 with Right Hepatic Vein Transection

2025

We present a laparoscopic technique for anatomic S7+S8d resection with right hepatic vein transection, preserving the inferior right hepatic vein and segment S6. Relying on meticulous anatomical landmarks without intraoperative ultrasound, this approach offers a precise and parenchyma-sparing option for dorsally located right-liver tumors, particularly in settings with limited advanced navigation resources.

Large-Scale Production of Extracellular Vesicles from High-Density 3D Cell Cultures in Hollow Fiber Perfusion Bioreactors

2026

Instructions are provided for setting up and using a 3D perfusion hollow fiber bioreactor for extracellular vesicle production from MSC and other cell types. This protocol describes a method for producing extracellular vesicles at high concentrations on a continuous basis while controlling cell density in hollow fiber bioreactors.

Lentiviral expression vectors are the most effective vehicles for stably expressing different effector molecules or reporter constructs in dividing and non-dividing mammalian cells and whole organisms. Here we provide a protocol on how to package lentivector expression constructs in pseudoviral particles and to transduce target cells using the pseudoviral particles.

This protocol describes how to install an infrared camera into a conveyor belt furnace, conduct a customer correction of a factory calibrated IR camera, and evaluate the spatial surface temperature distribution of an object of interest. The example objects are industrial silicon solar cells.

The Effect of Construction and Demolition Waste Plastic Fractions on Wood-Polymer Composite Properties

2020

Secondary material streams have been shown to include potential raw materials for production. Presented here is a protocol in which CDW-plastic waste as a raw material is identified, followed by various processing steps (agglomeration, extrusion). As a result, a composite material was produced, and mechanical properties were analyzed.
