Brain Registration

Brain registration is a neuroimaging technique that aligns brain images from different people, time points, or imaging sessions within a common spatial framework. It works by identifying corresponding anatomical features and applying geometric transformations, such as translation, rotation, scaling, or nonlinear warping, to match individual images to a reference brain or template. In psychology, registration supports comparisons of brain structure and activity across participants, helping researchers relate neuroimaging measurements to cognition, behavior, and mental health. Accurate alignment improves the localization of findings, enables group-level statistical analysis, and allows longitudinal studies to track changes while preserving meaningful anatomical differences.

2026

Shelf registration is an essential tool for companies to raise capital flexibly and efficiently. It is a provision by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that enables companies to file a single registration for securities they intend to issue over time rather than all at once. This process offers multiple advantages.Flexibility and Convenience: Shelf registration allows companies to issue securities in phases per market conditions and funding needs rather than raising all capital at...

The combination of multiple imaging modalities is often necessary to gain a comprehensive understanding of pathophysiology. This approach utilizes phantoms to generate a differential transformation between the coordinate systems of two modalities, which is then applied for co-registration. This method eliminates the need for fiducials in production scans.

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a technique for non-invasively disrupting neural information processing and measuring its effect on behavior. When TMS interferes with a task, it indicates that the stimulated brain region is necessary for normal task performance, allowing one to systematically relate brain regions to cognitive functions.
