Fritz Heider

Fritz Heider (1896–1988) was an Austrian-American psychologist whose work established key foundations of social psychology by explaining how people interpret the causes of behavior. His balance theory proposes that people seek consistency among their perceptions of individuals, relationships, and attitudes, while his attribution theory distinguishes explanations based on internal factors, such as personality, from those based on external circumstances. These ideas shaped research on person perception, interpersonal relationships, and judgment, and influenced later models of attribution, cognitive consistency, and social cognition. Heider’s framework remains useful for understanding how causal explanations affect expectations, evaluations, and interactions.

Ionic liquids (ILs) mediate fast, simple and cheap access to 1,6-ketoesters in high diastereoselectivities and good yields. The reaction protocol is robust and the 1,6-ketoesters can be obtained in gram scale after a simple filtration protocol. Moreover, the 1,6-ketoesters are potent gelators in hydrocarbon solvents.
