Uv Fluorescence Visualization

UV fluorescence visualization is a biological imaging technique that reveals fluorescent materials by illuminating them with ultraviolet (UV) light, making otherwise difficult-to-see structures or samples detectable. Fluorophores absorb high-energy UV radiation and release part of that energy as longer-wavelength visible light, which can be captured using appropriate filters, cameras, or microscopes. In biological research, the method supports visualization of stained nucleic acids and proteins in gels, fluorescent labels in cells, and naturally fluorescent compounds in tissues. It helps researchers assess sample location, separation, and distribution, although UV exposure can damage specimens and requires careful handling.

Absorbance When light interacts with a substance, a portion of the light is absorbed while the rest is either reflected or transmitted through it. Substances that we perceive as having a color reflect light in the visible range. The color of the substance that we are able to see depends on which wavelength of light is reflected. A substance that we perceive as blue reflects light in the blue range (430 – 480 nm) of the visible spectrum. According to the color wheel, the same substance absorbs...
