Differential Detection Analysis

Differential Detection Analysis is an analytical chemistry approach that identifies and quantifies chemical differences by comparing detector responses from a sample with a reference or related measurement. Under controlled conditions, subtracting or contrasting the signals reduces shared background contributions and emphasizes changes associated with the analyte, reaction, or experimental condition. This strategy can improve selectivity and sensitivity when matrix effects, baseline drift, or other common signals complicate interpretation. It supports chemical identification, concentration measurements, reaction monitoring, and comparative analysis, making it useful for distinguishing subtle changes in complex samples and evaluating how composition or conditions influence a measured response.

2026

Differential analysis, also called incremental analysis, is a decision-making technique that compares the costs and revenues that differ between alternatives. By focusing only on relevant financial information, it helps managers make informed decisions while ignoring data that does not affect the outcome. The key principle of differential analysis is distinguishing relevant and irrelevant costs. Relevant costs are future costs and revenues that change depending on the decision, such as variable...

We describe a rapid, molecular-based Influenza A and B assay. The Influenza assay detects each target within 15 min by employing isothermal amplification with influenza-specific primers followed by target detection with molecular beacon probes. The Influenza A and B assay is user-friendly and required minimal hands-on time to perform.

An approach for analyzing migration and eventual fate of avian neural crest cells in quail-chick chimeric embryos is described. This method is a simple and straightforward technique for tracing neural crest cells during migration and differentiation that are otherwise difficult to distinguish within an unmanipulated chick embryo.
