Borg Rpe Scale

The Borg RPE Scale, or Rating of Perceived Exertion scale, is a standardized measure of how hard a person feels they are working during physical activity, exercise testing, or rehabilitation. The original 6–20 scale links subjective sensations such as breathing difficulty, muscle fatigue, and overall effort to exercise intensity, with ratings generally increasing as physiological strain rises. Clinicians and exercise professionals use RPE to prescribe and adjust workloads, monitor responses when heart-rate data are unavailable or affected by medication, and assess tolerance during cardiovascular and therapeutic exercise. By combining patient-reported exertion with clinical measures, the scale supports individualized, safer activity recommendations.

The human retina is composed of functionally and molecularly distinct regions, including the fovea, macula, and peripheral retina. Here, we describe a method using punch biopsies and manual removal of tissue layers from a human eye to dissect and collect these distinct retinal regions for downstream proteomic analysis.

Isolation of IPE and RPE cells: A Technique to Obtain Pigmented Epithelial Cells from Isolated Porcine Eye

Hydronium and hydroxide ions are present both in pure water and in all aqueous solutions, and their concentrations are inversely proportional as determined by the ion product of water (Kw). The concentrations of these ions in a solution are often critical determinants of the solution’s properties and the chemical behaviors of its other solutes. Two different solutions can differ in their hydronium or hydroxide ion concentrations by a million, billion, or even trillion times. A common means of...
