Rat Fixation

Rat fixation is the controlled immobilization or positioning of a rat during medical and biomedical procedures, helping researchers perform interventions safely and obtain reproducible results. Depending on the protocol, fixation may use a restraint device, supports, or other positioning methods to limit movement while maintaining access to the target region and monitoring the animal’s condition. It is used in imaging, surgery, injections, physiological measurements, and sample collection, where consistent positioning improves procedural accuracy and data quality. Appropriate fixation also supports standardized experimental design and animal welfare by reducing unnecessary handling, movement, and procedural duration.
