Temperature Responsive Culture

Temperature-responsive culture is a cell culture method that uses temperature-sensitive materials to control cell attachment and detachment, offering a way to harvest living cells while preserving their surface proteins and cell-to-cell connections. Typically, cells grow on a culture surface coated with a temperature-responsive polymer; changing the temperature alters the polymer’s hydration and surface properties, allowing the cell layer to detach without enzymatic treatment. In medicine, this approach supports the preparation of intact cell sheets for tissue engineering and regenerative therapies, while also providing controlled platforms for studying cell behavior, tissue formation, and potential transplantation strategies.

Temperature Response of Soil Organic Matter Decomposition Rates: Construction and Applications of a Temperature Gradient Block

2026

We introduce a temperature gradient block and detail its construction and utilization. The block provides 22 discrete temperatures, linearly distributed between a user-defined range from 0 to 90 °C. Data collected from this setup enables testing and developing new theories on the temperature response of soil organic matter decomposition rates.

Chemical Kinetics The reaction rate is the speed at which a chemical reaction occurs. The reaction rate is defined as the change in concentration of a component in the reaction with time. The speed of a reaction depends on several factors, including the concentration of reactants and the temperature at which the reaction is performed. Each reactant contributes to the speed of the reaction by a specific factor. This relationship is defined by the reaction rate law. Rate Law The rate law is an...
