Nomogram Development

Nomogram development is the process of creating a graphical or digital prediction tool that combines multiple variables to estimate an individual outcome, supporting transparent, evidence-based decision-making. Using clinical or experimental datasets, developers select relevant predictors, fit a multivariable statistical model, convert each variable’s weighted contribution into points, and sum them to generate a probability or risk estimate; calibration and validation assess performance. In neuroscience, nomograms can integrate demographic, behavioral, imaging, electrophysiological, or molecular measures to predict diagnosis, disease progression, recovery, or treatment response. Well-validated tools may improve individualized prognosis, support clinical research, and help translate complex neurological data into practical decisions.

Dosage Regimen Designs: Nomograms and Tabulations

2025

Nomograms and tabulations are vital tools used by clinicians to design accurate and individualized dosage regimens. These instruments provide a straightforward method for adjusting dosages based on individual patient characteristics, including age, weight, and physiological condition. The foundation of a drug's nomogram is population pharmacokinetic data collected and analyzed using specific models. This data simplifies complex equations, presenting them diagrammatically or tabularly for easy...

The chicken embryo (Gallus gallus domesticus) provides an economical and accessible model for developmental biology research. Chicks develop rapidly and are amenable to genetic and physiological manipulations, allowing researchers to investigate developmental pathways down to the cell and molecular levels. This video review of chick development begins by describing the process of egg fertilization and formation within the chicken reproductive tract. Next, the most commonly used chick staging...

The zebrafish (Danio rerio) has become a popular model for studying genetics and developmental biology. The transparency of these animals at early developmental stages permits the direct visualization of tissue morphogenesis at the cellular level. Furthermore, zebrafish are amenable to genetic manipulation, allowing researchers to determine the effect of gene expression on the development of a vertebrate with a high degree of genetic similarity to humans. This video provides a brief overview of...

Co-cultures represent a valuable method to study the interactions between nerves and target tissues and organs. Microfluidic systems allow co-culturing ganglia and whole developing organs or tissues in different culture media, thus representing a valuable tool for the in vitro study of the crosstalk between neurons and their targets.
