Kruskal-wallis Test

The Kruskal-Wallis test is a nonparametric statistical method for comparing three or more independent groups when data do not meet the assumptions required for one-way analysis of variance. It combines observations from all groups, ranks them from smallest to largest, and evaluates whether the groups have similarly distributed ranks using an H statistic and corresponding significance test. Researchers use it for ordinal or continuous measurements, especially when samples are skewed or variances are unequal. A significant result indicates that at least one group differs, although follow-up pairwise comparisons are needed to identify which groups account for the difference.

The Kruskal-Wallis test, also known as the Kruskal-Wallis H test, serves as a nonparametric alternative to the one-way ANOVA, offering a solution for analyzing the differences across three or more independent groups based on a single, ordinal-dependent variable. This statistical test is particularly valuable in scenarios where the data does not meet the normal distribution assumption required by its parametric counterparts. Kruskal-Wallis test is designed typically to handle ordinal data or...

Multiplexed Immunofluorescence Assay for Spatial Assessment of Senescence Markers in vivo

2026

Multiplexed immunofluorescence enables sequential labeling of multiple antibody markers within a single tissue section to support spatial analysis of tissue architecture and cell populations. Here, a workflow for multiplex detection of senescence-associated, structural, and immune markers is presented, including manual and automated slide preparation, iterative imaging, and single-cell analysis using digital pathology software.

Here, we present a protocol to use a curvelet transform-based, open-source MATLAB software tool for quantifying fibrillar collagen organization in the extracellular matrix of both normal and diseased tissues. This tool can be applied to images with collagen fibers or other types of line-like structures.
