Performance Optimization

Performance optimization is the systematic improvement of how effectively a person or group performs a task, meets goals, or adapts to demands. In psychology, it typically involves assessing factors such as attention, motivation, stress, emotion, and decision-making, then applying targeted strategies and feedback to strengthen useful behaviors and reduce performance barriers. Techniques may include goal setting, mental rehearsal, self-monitoring, cognitive restructuring, and deliberate practice, with results evaluated through behavioral or performance measures. This approach supports learning, athletic and workplace performance, resilience, and well-being while helping researchers understand how psychological processes shape achievement across different settings.

Here, we present the range analysis method to optimize the sample points generated by an orthogonal experimental design to ensure that fresh food can be stored in a vented box for a long time by regulating the airflow pattern.

Synthesis of Platinum-nickel Nanowires and Optimization for Oxygen Reduction Performance

2018

The protocol describes the synthesis and electrochemical testing of platinum-nickel nanowires. Nanowires were synthesized by the galvanic displacement of a nickel nanowire template. Post-synthesis processing, including hydrogen annealing, acid leaching, and oxygen annealing were used to optimize nanowire performance and durability in the oxygen reduction reaction.

Optimal Foraging - Concepts

Optimal Foraging Organisms must acquire and use resources in their environment to survive. While food is one of the primary resources organisms must search for, individuals also need to seek habitats, shelter, and mates. This process of searching for resources is known as foraging, which involves a series of costs and benefits. More specifically, acquiring a resource provides the organism with a benefit, however, searching and capturing the resource requires expenditure of time and energy.

Optimal Foraging

How animals obtain and eat their food is called foraging behavior. Foraging can include searching for plants and hunting for prey and depends on the species and environment. Optimal foraging theory states that natural selection favors foraging strategies that balance the benefits of a particular food, such as energy and nutrients, with the costs of obtaining it, such as energy expenditure and the risk of predation. Optimal foraging maximizes benefits while minimizing costs. For the Crows
