Temperature and Thermal Equilibrium

온도는 신체의 뜨거움 또는 차가움을 측정하는 척도이며 온도계로 기록할 수 있습니다.
더 뜨거운 몸은 더 높은 온도를 가지고 더 차가운 몸은 더 낮은 온도를 가지고 있습니다.
예를 들어, 끓는 물은 찬물보다 온도가 높기 때문에 뜨겁게 느껴집니다.
뜨거운 물과 차가운 물을 섞으면 온도가 같아질 때까지 뜨거운 물에서 차가운 물로 열이 전달됩니다.
균일한 온도에 도달하면 열 전달이 멈추고 물이 열 평형 상태에 있다고 합니다.
데워진 물을 냉장고 안에 넣으면 냉장고 온도에 도달할 때까지 냉각됩니다.
따라서 열 평형은 연결된 두 시스템 사이에 더 이상의 열 전달이 없는 상태입니다.
한 물체가 어떤 절연체에 의해 다른 시스템과 분리되면 열 평형 과정이 지연됩니다.
따라서 열 플라스크는 플라스크 벽 사이에 존재하는 진공이 절연체 역할을 하고 열 전달을 제한하기 때문에 커피를 오랫동안 뜨겁게 유지할 수 있습니다.

Heat and temperature are key ideas in thermodynamics and in everyday life. People often connect temperature with hot and cold, but science gives it a more precise meaning. Temperature is the quantity measured with a thermometer. It is also linked to the average translational kinetic energy of particles.

Heat is different from temperature. Heat is energy that moves from one place or material to another because there is a difference in temperature. That difference in temperature keeps heat flowing throughout the universe. When heat is transferred, it can change temperature and affect matter in many settings.

These ideas help explain the behavior of atoms and molecules. They also appear in cooking, in Earth’s weather, and in the life cycles of stars. People can feel heat entering the body from the summer Sun or from hot coffee or tea after a winter stroll. People can also feel heat leaving the body from the chill of the night or from the cooling effect of sweat after exercise.
