Luer Connector

A Luer connector is a standardized fitting that joins tubing, syringes, filters, and other fluid-handling components, enabling secure connections in environmental sampling and laboratory equipment. It works through a tapered male and female interface that creates a snug seal, while locking versions use threaded engagement to resist separation during fluid transfer. In environmental research, Luer connectors support the collection, filtration, and transport of water, soil extracts, and other samples while helping limit leaks and external contamination. Their compatibility with interchangeable components simplifies sampling workflows and improves consistency when researchers analyze pollutants, microorganisms, or chemical indicators.
