Hind Limb Function

Hind limb function refers to the coordinated roles of the pelvis, leg, joints, muscles, tendons, nerves, and supporting tissues in maintaining posture, producing movement, and bearing body weight. It depends on controlled muscle contraction across the hip, knee, and ankle, while sensory feedback and central nervous system signaling regulate balance, joint stability, and the timing of each step. In medicine, understanding hind limb function supports the assessment of gait abnormalities, weakness, pain, nerve injury, and musculoskeletal disease. Functional analysis also guides rehabilitation, surgical planning, prosthetic design, and evaluation of recovery after trauma or neurological disorders.

Hindsight bias leads you to believe that the event you just experienced was predictable, even though it really wasn’t. In other words, you knew all along that things would turn out the way they did. Can you relate this to the phrase "Hindsight is 20/20" now? This text is adapted from OpenStax, Psychology. OpenStax CNX.

The electroretinogram (ERG) is an electrical potential generated by the retina in response to light. This paper describes how to use the ERG to assess retinal function, in dark-adapted rats, and how it can be can be used to assess a neuroprotective intervention, in the present case remote ischemic preconditioning.
