Kambin's Triangle

Kambin’s Triangle is a triangular anatomical corridor in the posterolateral lumbar spine that provides access to the intervertebral disc while helping clinicians avoid neural structures. Its boundaries are generally defined by the exiting nerve root, the traversing nerve root or dural sac, and the superior endplate of the caudal vertebra; instruments pass through this window toward the disc, often under fluoroscopic or endoscopic guidance. The corridor supports transforaminal endoscopic discectomy, percutaneous lumbar interbody fusion, and other minimally invasive spinal procedures. Understanding its dimensions and anatomical variations helps reduce nerve injury and improves the planning and safety of lumbar interventions.

Full-Endoscopic Trans-Kambin Triangle Lumbar Interbody Fusion: Surgical Technique

2026

Here, we present a protocol to perform full-endoscopic trans-Kambin triangle lumbar interbody fusion (KLIF). The protocol utilizes a posterolateral approach via Kambin’s triangle for safe expandable cage insertion and neural decompression while preserving dorsal facet structure and minimizing soft tissue trauma.

Trigonometry of Right Triangles

2025

In a right triangle, trigonometric functions establish specific ratios that describe the relationship between the lengths of the triangle's sides and its acute angles. These relationships are foundational in understanding the structure of right-angled geometry. The sine function quantifies the proportion of the side opposite a given angle compared to the triangle's hypotenuse. In contrast, the cosine function expresses how the side adjacent to the angle relates to the hypotenuse in terms of...

Binomial Expansion Using Pascal's Triangle

2025

Expanding a binomial expression such as (a + b)n results in a predictable sequence of terms that can be systematically derived using Pascal’s Triangle. This triangular array of numbers plays a central role in understanding and computing the coefficients of binomial expansions.Pascal’s Triangle is constructed such that each row corresponds to the coefficients of a binomial raised to a power. The topmost row, known as the zeroth row, corresponds to (a + b)0, and each successive row gives the...

Induction of an Isoelectric Brain State to Investigate the Impact of Endogenous Synaptic Activity on Neuronal Excitability In Vivo

This procedure performs long-lasting in vivo intracellular recordings from single neurons during physiologically relevant cerebral states and after complete abolition of ongoing electrical activities, resulting in an isoelectric brain state. The physiological constants of the animal are carefully monitored during the transition to the artificial comatose condition.

2014

Elastin-like polypeptides are stimulus-responsive biopolymers with applications ranging from recombinant protein purification to drug delivery. This protocol describes the purification and characterization of elastin-like polypeptides and their peptide or protein fusions from Escherichia coli using their lower critical solution temperature phase transition behavior as a simple alternative to chromatography.
