Micro-convex Probe Use

Micro-convex probe use refers to applying a small, curved ultrasound transducer to obtain diagnostic images through narrow acoustic windows or over contoured body surfaces. The probe’s piezoelectric elements transmit high-frequency sound pulses and receive returning echoes, while its compact convex footprint produces a sector-shaped field of view that supports imaging between ribs and around anatomical structures. In medicine, micro-convex probes are useful for focused abdominal, thoracic, cardiac, and pediatric examinations, particularly when access is limited or conventional linear and curvilinear probes cannot provide adequate contact. Their versatility supports bedside assessment, image-guided procedures, and rapid evaluation of internal anatomy.

We demonstrate controlled pattern transformation of swelling gel tubes by elastic instability. A simple projection micro stereo-lithography setup is built using an off-the-shelf digital data projector to fabricate three-dimensional polymeric structures in a layer-by-layer fashion. Swelling hydrogel tubes under mechanical constraint display various circumferential buckling modes depending on dimension.
