Creative Intelligence

Creative intelligence is the psychological capacity to generate original ideas, recognize novel possibilities, and develop effective responses to unfamiliar problems. It operates through interacting processes such as divergent thinking, which produces multiple alternatives, and convergent evaluation, which assesses their usefulness, feasibility, and fit with a given context. In psychology, the concept helps explain how people adapt beyond learned routines and apply knowledge in new ways. Studying creative intelligence informs research on cognition, learning, problem solving, and individual differences, while supporting educational practices and workplace strategies that encourage flexible thinking and innovation.

2023

Source: Laboratories of Gary Lewandowski, Dave Strohmetz, and Natalie Ciarocco—Monmouth University Research studies come into being when a researcher speculates about human thought, emotions, or behavior, and has a theory that offers a potential explanation. Often the researcher’s theory is firmly situated in everyday common experiences that may not naturally lend themselves to direct empirical study. For example, researchers speculated that perception of a person on Facebook is influenced by...

We present a Turing-like Handshake test administered through a telerobotic system in which the interrogator is holding a robotic stylus and interacting with another party (human or artificial). We use a forced choice method, and extract a measure for the similarity of the artificial model to a human handshake.
