False Aneurysm

A false aneurysm, or pseudoaneurysm, is a contained blood collection that communicates with an artery through a defect in the vessel wall, making it an important clinical vascular complication. Unlike a true aneurysm, it forms when blood escapes through the arterial wall and is confined by surrounding tissue, often producing turbulent flow through a connecting neck. Clinical evaluation commonly uses Doppler ultrasonography or computed tomography angiography to identify the sac, blood flow, and its relationship to nearby structures. Accurate recognition guides treatment, which may include ultrasound-guided compression, thrombin injection, endovascular repair, or surgery, helping prevent expansion, rupture, bleeding, and distal ischemic complications.

False memories represent a cognitive distortion in which individuals recall events that did not happen, or remember them in an altered form. This phenomenon highlights the brain's constructive nature in processing and recalling memories, emphasizing that memory is not a perfect representation of past events but rather a dynamic reconstruction influenced by various factors. One primary source of false memories is misattribution, where individuals incorrectly associate external information with...

Histological and biochemical modifications after aneurysm endograft exclusion are still unclear. We describe a new model of endograft implantation on a murine aneurysm. Through thrombus analysis with and without persistant circulating blood stream interface, and new endovascular biomaterials evaluation, this model will help to better understand endovascular aneurysm exclusion pathobiology.
