Concurrent Forces

Concurrent forces are forces whose lines of action intersect at a single point, making them an important concept for analyzing loads and equilibrium in engineering systems. Engineers represent each force as a vector and combine the vectors by resolving them into perpendicular components; the resulting vector gives the net force, while equilibrium occurs when the resultant is zero. This analysis helps determine support reactions, cable tensions, and member loads in structures such as trusses, frames, and cranes. Understanding concurrent forces supports safer designs, accurate free-body diagrams, and reliable predictions of how engineered systems respond to applied loads.

Organic photovoltaic (OPV) materials are inherently inhomogeneous at the nanometer scale. Nanoscale inhomogeneity of OPV materials affects performance of photovoltaic devices. In this paper, we describe a protocol for quantitative measurements of electrical and mechanical properties of OPV materials with sub-100 nm resolution.
