Scanner Array

A scanner array is a detection system that uses multiple sensor elements to measure signals from spatially organized samples, enabling rapid, parallel analysis rather than one measurement at a time. During scanning, the array records signal intensity from individual locations, such as fluorescence, chemiluminescence, or absorbance, and software converts these measurements into quantitative data. In immunology and infection research, scanner arrays support antigen and antibody profiling, cytokine analysis, pathogen detection, and multiplexed biomarker screening. By increasing throughput while preserving spatial information, they help researchers compare immune responses, identify infection-associated patterns, and evaluate diagnostic or experimental assays.

A scanner for imaging magnetic particles in planar samples was developed using the planar frequency mixing magnetic detection technique. The magnetic intermodulation product response from the nonlinear nonhysteretic magnetization of the particles is recorded upon a two-frequency excitation. It can be used to take 2D images of thin biological samples.

Detecting Circulating Anti-Glycan Antibodies with a Printed Glycan Array
