Vascular Closure Clip Application

Vascular closure clip application is a technique used to seal a small blood-vessel opening created during catheter-based procedures, helping restore vessel integrity and control bleeding. A delivery system positions a clip across the arteriotomy, and the clip’s closing force brings the vessel edges together to promote hemostasis while preserving blood flow through the vessel. In medicine, the technique is commonly applied after arterial access for diagnostic angiography or endovascular intervention, particularly when rapid access-site management is important. Proper deployment requires accurate positioning, assessment of the access vessel, and monitoring for bleeding, thrombosis, or other vascular complications.
