C57bl/6n Mouse

C57BL/6N mouse is an inbred laboratory strain widely used as a genetically consistent model for studying mammalian biology, including brain function and disease. Its closely related genetic background, maintained through controlled breeding, reduces variation between animals and helps researchers link experimental manipulations to neural, behavioral, and physiological outcomes. In neuroscience, C57BL/6N mice support studies of neurodevelopment, sensory processing, learning and memory, aging, and neurological disorders, while standardized genetics facilitate comparisons across experiments and laboratories. Careful reporting of substrain, sex, age, housing, and experimental conditions remains important because these factors can influence behavioral and neural phenotypes.

Establishment of Central Cord Syndrome Model in C57BL/6J Mouse

2023

The present protocol simulating central cord syndrome (CCS) in mice has improved repeatability and minimized operation damage to the experimental animals, avoiding disrupting the anatomical structure excessively. The strategy in this study is advantageous because it allows for research into injury mechanisms by producing consistent results.

This protocol describes in detail how to specifically transfect different regions in the C57BL/6 central nervous system via in utero electroporation. Included in this protocol are detailed instructions for transfections of regions that develop into the cortex, hippocampus, thalamus, hypothalamus, lateral septal nucleus and striatum.

The transfer of bm12 lymphocytes into a C57BL/6 recipient is an established model of systemic lupus erythematosus. Here we describe how to initiate disease using this model and how to characterize T follicular helper cells, germinal center B cells and plasma cells by flow cytometry.

Sodium Taurocholate Induced Severe Acute Pancreatitis in C57BL/6 Mice

Animal models for severe acute pancreatitis enable the study of pathophysiological changes at the initial stage, facilitating observation of the evolution of inflammatory events. Here we provide a protocol for the induction of severe acute biliary pancreatitis by retrograde infusion of sodium taurocholate into the pancreatic duct of anesthetized C57BL/6 mice.
