Video Recording Analysis

Video recording analysis is a method for extracting measurable information from recorded visual data, allowing researchers to study behavior, movement, and interactions systematically. In neuroscience, investigators review footage frame by frame or use tracking and event-coding methods to quantify variables such as locomotion, posture, grooming, social behavior, and responses to stimuli. These measurements can be aligned with neural recordings, stimulation, or experimental conditions to examine relationships between brain activity and behavior. Video analysis supports research in animal models, neuroethology, motor control, and neurological disease by improving behavioral precision, reproducibility, and the interpretation of complex experiments.
