Model Analysis

Model analysis is the systematic evaluation of a statistical model to determine how well it represents data, supports inference, and predicts outcomes. It examines relationships between variables by assessing parameter estimates, residual patterns, goodness of fit, uncertainty, and assumptions such as independence or constant variance. In statistics, these evaluations help identify overfitting, influential observations, bias, and model limitations before results are interpreted or applied. Model analysis strengthens conclusions in research and decision-making by guiding model selection, refinement, and validation across fields that use data to explain patterns or forecast future observations.

Mechanistic Models: Compartment Models in Individual and Population Analysis

2025

Mechanistic models are utilized in individual analysis using single-source data, but imperfections arise due to data collection errors, preventing perfect prediction of observed data. The mathematical equation involves known values (Xi), observed concentrations (Ci), measurement errors (εi), model parameters (ϕj), and the related function (ƒi) for i number of values. Different least-squares metrics quantify differences between predicted and observed values. The ordinary least squares (OLS)...
