Dit protocol beschrijft rectale organoïde morfologie analyse (ROMA), een nieuwe diagnostische test voor cystic fibrosis (CF). Morfologische kenmerken, namelijk de rondheid (circulariteitsindex, CI) en de aanwezigheid van een lumen (intensiteitsverhouding, IR), zijn een maat voor de CFTR-functie. Analyse van 189 proefpersonen toonde perfecte discriminatie tussen CF en niet-CF.
