Temperature and Thermal Equilibrium

Temperatura jest miarą gorąca lub zimna ciała i można ją zarejestrować za pomocą termometru.
Cieplejsze ciało ma wyższą temperaturę, podczas gdy chłodniejsze ma niższą temperaturę.
Na przykład wrząca woda jest gorąca, ponieważ ma wyższą temperaturę niż zimna woda.
Jeśli gorąca i zimna woda zostaną zmieszane, ciepło będzie przenoszone z gorącej do zimnej wody, aż ich temperatura się zrówna.

Ciepło i temperatura to pojęcia istotne dla każdego każdego dnia. Badanie ciepła i temperatury jest częścią dziedziny fizyki zwanej termodynamiką. Nie zawsze łatwo jest odróżnić ciepło od temperatury.

Pojęcie temperatury ewoluowało od powszechnych pojęć ciepła i zimna. Naukowa definicja temperatury wyjaśnia więcej niż tylko nasze poczucie ciepła i zimna. Temperaturę definiuje się operacyjnie jako wielkość mierzoną za pomocą termometru. Co więcej, temperatura jest proporcjonalna do średniej energii kinetycznej translacji, co zapewnia bardziej fizyczną definicję. Różnice temperatur utrzymują przepływ ciepła w całym wszechświecie. Przenikanie ciepła to przepływ energii z jednego miejsca lub materiału do drugiego w wyniku różnicy temperatur. Przenoszenie ciepła może zmienić temperaturę i będzie miało wpływ na wszystko, od zachowania atomów i cząsteczek, po gotowanie, pogodę na Ziemi i cykle życia gwiazd. Heat and temperature are key ideas in thermodynamics and in everyday life. People often connect temperature with hot and cold, but science gives it a more precise meaning. Temperature is the quantity measured with a thermometer. It is also linked to the average translational kinetic energy of particles.

Heat is different from temperature. Heat is energy that moves from one place or material to another because there is a difference in temperature. That difference in temperature keeps heat flowing throughout the universe. When heat is transferred, it can change temperature and affect matter in many settings.

These ideas help explain the behavior of atoms and molecules. They also appear in cooking, in Earth’s weather, and in the life cycles of stars. People can feel heat entering the body from the summer Sun or from hot coffee or tea after a winter stroll. People can also feel heat leaving the body from the chill of the night or from the cooling effect of sweat after exercise.
