Maroon Dye Granules

Maroon dye granules are particulate color reagents used in biological techniques to produce a distinct red-brown signal in prepared samples. When rehydrated or dissolved under controlled conditions, the dye disperses through the specimen and associates with cellular or tissue components, allowing structures to be distinguished by light microscopy or visual inspection. Their consistent color and granular format can support sample labeling, staining, and comparison across experimental preparations. In research and teaching laboratories, these reagents help document morphology, monitor processing steps, and improve contrast when transparent biological material would otherwise be difficult to observe.

Stress Granules (SGs) are nonmembranous cytoplasmic structures that form in cells exposed to a variety of stresses. SGs contain mRNAs, RNA-binding proteins, small ribosomal subunits, translation-related factors, and various cell signaling proteins. This protocol describes a workflow that uses several experimental approaches to detect, characterize, and quantify bona fide SGs.
