Oviduct Injection

Oviduct injection is a biological delivery technique in which a solution is introduced directly into the oviduct, the reproductive passage that transports oocytes and supports egg formation. The injected material moves through the oviduct lumen and can contact its epithelial tissues or developing reproductive products, depending on the timing, volume, and composition of the preparation. In biology, this approach supports studies of reproductive physiology, gene delivery, protein production, and egg-associated development. By targeting a defined reproductive compartment, researchers can evaluate localized biological responses and investigate how introduced substances influence oviduct function or the composition of developing eggs.

Culture of normal cells in their three-dimensional context represents an alternative method to study early events required for cellular transformation and tumorigenesis. This method is used to grow normal ovarian and oviductal cells to study early events in ovarian cancer formation.

Improved Genome Editing via Oviductal Nucleic Acids Delivery-based In Vivo Electroporation Technique for Knockout Mice Generation

2025

The efficiency of the Improved Genome Editing via Oviductal Nucleic Acids Delivery (I-GONAD) method is comparable to traditional microinjection, which requires zygote collection from donor females and transfer to pseudo-pregnant females. This protocol demonstrates its effectiveness by introducing CRISPR/Cas9-induced mutations into the ROSA26 locus on chromosome 6.

Embryo Transfer Into Rabbit: A Procedure for Laparoscopy-Guided Transfer of Embryos Into Oviduct of Ovulating Recipient Female Rabbit Model

This video describes the technique of transferring embryos into the oviduct of a recipient female rabbit via Laparoscopy. It allows embryo remodeling in rabbits during its migration through the oviduct, eventually helping in successful implantation. This technique can also be used for stored embryos with good efficiency.

Pronuclear (PN) injection of the clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR) and CRISPR-associated protein-9 nuclease (CRISPR/Cas9) system is a highly efficient method for producing genetically engineered golden Syrian hamsters. Herein, we describe the detailed PN injection protocol for the production of gene knockout hamsters with the CRISPR/Cas9 system.

Microdissection and Dissociation of the Murine Oviduct: Individual Segment Identification and Single Cell Isolation

A method for microdissection of the mouse oviduct that allows collection of the individual segments while maintaining RNA integrity is presented. In addition, non-enzymatic oviductal cell dissociation procedure is described. The methods are appropriate for subsequent gene and protein analysis of the functionally different oviductal segments and dissociated oviductal cells.
