Surgical Treatment

Surgical treatment is the management of disease, injury, or structural abnormality through operative procedures that alter, remove, repair, or replace affected tissue. It works by providing controlled access to the body, often under anesthesia, so clinicians can excise diseased tissue, restore damaged anatomy, or redirect physiological function using open or minimally invasive techniques. In clinical practice, surgical treatment may relieve symptoms, prevent disease progression, restore function, or support diagnosis when tissue examination is required. Careful patient selection, sterile technique, imaging, and postoperative monitoring help balance therapeutic benefit with risks such as bleeding, infection, and impaired healing.
