Microwave Stripping

Microwave stripping is a laboratory technique that removes previously applied antibodies or staining reagents from tissue sections, allowing the same specimen to undergo additional analyses. Microwave heating accelerates the disruption of antibody–antigen interactions, typically in a stripping buffer, while controlled conditions help preserve tissue morphology and target accessibility. In developmental biology, this approach supports sequential immunostaining of embryonic or tissue sections to examine multiple proteins, cell types, or signaling markers within a single sample. By conserving valuable specimens and enabling repeated labeling, microwave stripping can improve comparative analysis of developmental patterns and reduce variation between adjacent sections.

Voltammetry: Stripping Methods

2024

Anodic Stripping Voltammetry (ASV), Cathodic Stripping Voltammetry (CSV), and Adsorptive Stripping Voltammetry (AdSV) are electrochemical techniques used to determine trace amounts of analytes in solution. These methods involve applying a potential to an electrode and measuring the resulting current. Anodic Stripping Voltammetry (ASV) ASV is used to determine metals and metalloids at trace levels. It involves two steps: deposition and stripping. First, a negative potential is applied to the...

(2023)This video demonstrates a luminescence-based assay for assessing the antibacterial efficacy of an antibiotic-loaded polymeric strip by quantifying ATP-driven luminescence, which decreases in bacterial cultures exposed to the antibiotic.

Development of a Colloidal Gold-based Immunochromatographic Test Strip for Detection of Cetacean Myoglobin

This protocol describes the development of two IgG class monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) strongly reactive to myoglobin of cetaceans. These mAbs are applied on a colloidal gold immunochromatographic test strip based on the sandwich format to differentiate the Mb of cetaceans from seal and other animals.
