Clinicoradiomics Models

Clinicoradiomics models are predictive frameworks that combine quantitative features extracted from medical images with patient-specific clinical information to characterize disease and support medical decision-making. They typically use image-processing pipelines to measure intensity, shape, texture, or spatial patterns, then integrate these radiomic variables with factors such as demographics, laboratory results, staging, or treatment history in statistical or machine-learning models. In medicine, these models can improve disease classification, risk stratification, prognosis estimation, and prediction of treatment response. Their clinical value depends on robust validation, reproducible imaging protocols, and careful assessment of model performance across patient populations.

Here, we present a systematic approach for developing physiologically relevant, sensitive and specific in vivo assays for interpreting variation in human pathology. Transient genetic manipulation via microinjection of WT and mutant human mRNA and morpholino (MO) antisense oligonucleotides harness the tractability of the developing zebrafish embryo to rapidly assay pathogenic mutations, especially, but not exclusively, in the context of human developmental disorders.

2020

Physical models representing molecular architectures of chemical compounds play essential roles in understanding chemistry. The use of molecular models makes it easier to visualize the structures and shapes of atoms and molecules. Skeletal Model Simpler two-dimensional representations of chemical compounds are accomplished using skeletal models. The illustration shows only the molecular framework or bonds without explicitly showing the atoms. In this representation, many of the carbon atoms...

A methodology is described herein for representing anatomical imaging data within crystals. We create scaled three-dimensional models of biomedical imaging data for use in Sub-Surface Laser Engraving (SSLE) of crystal glass. This tool offers a useful complement to computational display or three-dimensionally printed models used within clinical or educational settings.

Zebrafish Larvae as a Model to Evaluate Potential Radiosensitizers or Protectors

2022

The zebrafish has recently been exploited as a model to validate potential radiation modifiers. The present protocol describes the detailed steps to use zebrafish embryos for radiation-based screening experiments and some observational approaches to evaluate the effect of different treatments and radiation.
