Pulsatile Lh Measurement

Pulsatile LH measurement is the assessment of luteinizing hormone concentrations over time to characterize its episodic release from the pituitary, an essential feature of reproductive endocrine signaling. In neuroscience, researchers obtain serial blood samples and use hormone assays to identify rises, intervals, and amplitudes of LH pulses generated by hypothalamic gonadotropin-releasing hormone activity. This approach helps link neural regulation to pituitary and gonadal function, revealing changes associated with puberty, menstrual cycling, fertility, aging, and reproductive disorders. Quantifying LH dynamics also supports studies of hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis function and the effects of physiological or experimental interventions.

This method describes the encapsulation of the rabies antigen into biodegradable polymeric microparticles with structural and material properties that enable pulsatile release after a predetermined delay. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) assessment of the antigen retrieved from the particle core confirms the presence of intact trimeric rabies virus glycoprotein through particle fabrication.

Measuring Left Ventricular Pressure in Late Embryonic and Neonatal Mice

Measuring left ventricular pressure (LV) in embryonic and neonatal mice is described. Pressure is measured by inserting a needle connected to a fluid-filled transducer into the LV under ultrasound guidance. Care must be taken to maintain normal cardiac function during the experimental protocol.
