Nuclear Isomer Lifetime

Nuclear isomer lifetime is the time a metastable, excited atomic nucleus remains in a higher-energy state before transitioning to a lower-energy configuration. The lifetime depends on the transition energy, changes in nuclear spin and parity, and the probability of electromagnetic decay through gamma-ray emission or internal conversion, in which the nucleus transfers energy to an orbital electron. Measuring these lifetimes helps physicists characterize nuclear structure, test models of electromagnetic transitions, and identify long-lived isomers that can store nuclear excitation energy. Such measurements also support research in nuclear spectroscopy, astrophysical nucleosynthesis, and potential applications involving precise time and energy standards.

Constitutional Isomers of Alkanes

2023

Organic compounds of the same molecular formula can have different structural formulas called constitutional isomers, and the phenomenon is known as constitutional isomerism. Alkanes with four or more carbons showing multiple structures with the same molecular formula thereby exhibit constitutional isomerism. The linear isomer of an alkane is prefixed by the term “n”; hence a linear isomer of pentane is known as n-pentane. Based on the type of branching, some of the branched isomers are given...

Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) is a metric that quantifies the total revenue a business expects to earn from a customer throughout their entire relationship. It involves predicting the monetary value a customer will bring over time, factoring in their purchasing patterns, frequency, and duration of engagement. CLV is crucial for businesses to assess the long-term profitability of acquiring and retaining customers. By understanding the value each customer contributes, companies can optimize...
