Automated Tissue Collection

Automated tissue collection is the use of robotic or computer-controlled systems to retrieve, section, and organize biological tissue samples with consistent handling, reducing variability between specimens. These systems coordinate instruments, sample positioning, and predefined collection protocols to improve precision while limiting manual manipulation, contamination, and tissue damage. In cancer research, automated collection supports the preparation of tumor and adjacent normal tissues for histology, molecular profiling, biomarker analysis, and drug-response studies. Standardized workflows can increase sample throughput, preserve tissue quality, and strengthen comparisons across experiments, helping researchers characterize tumor biology and develop more reproducible diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
