Newborn Mouse Injection

Newborn mouse injection is a laboratory technique for delivering drugs, nucleic acids, viral vectors, or other experimental materials to neonatal mice, enabling intervention during early nervous-system development. Depending on the study, a fine needle introduces a measured volume systemically or into a defined site such as the brain, where the delivered material alters molecular, cellular, or physiological processes. In neuroscience, this approach supports studies of neurodevelopment, gene function, circuit formation, and neurological disease models. Because timing, dose, injection site, and tissue injury can strongly influence outcomes, careful handling and standardized procedures are essential for reproducible results and animal welfare.
