Glaciers are powerful forces of nature that reshape the land as they move. As a glacier flows, it changes the landscape in two main ways: plucking and abrasion.

Plucking happens when a glacier picks up rocks and sediment. As the glacier moves, these rocks freeze to its base and get carried along.
