Microchannel Flow Analysis

Microchannel flow analysis is the study and quantification of fluid movement through channels with micrometer-scale dimensions, where confinement enables precise control of small volumes and transport processes. In bioengineering systems, researchers examine pressure-driven or electrokinetic flow by measuring velocity, pressure drop, shear stress, and mixing under predominantly laminar conditions. These measurements help predict how fluids, particles, and biological cells move through microfluidic devices. The analysis supports the design of lab-on-a-chip diagnostics, cell-sorting platforms, drug-delivery systems, and tissue-engineering models, while improving control over biochemical reactions, sample handling, and microscale physiological environments.

A microchannels-on-a-chip platform was developed by the combination of photolithographic reflowable photoresist technique, soft lithography, and microfluidics. The endothelialized microchannels platform mimics the three-dimensional (3D) geometry of in vivo microvessels, runs under controlled continuous perfusion flow, allows for high-quality and real-time imaging and can be applied for microvascular research.

Free Cash Flow Analysis

2025

Free cash flow (FCF) is a critical indicator of a company’s financial flexibility and long-term viability. It represents the cash remaining after a firm covers its essential capital expenditures—funds used to maintain or expand physical assets like equipment, buildings, or technology.Calculating Free Cash FlowFree cash flow is calculated by taking the cash generated from operating activities and subtracting the company’s capital expenditures. This clearly measures how much cash remains after...

Techniques for the Analysis of Extracellular Vesicles Using Flow Cytometry

Many different methods exist for the measurement of extracellular vesicles (EVs) using flow cytometry (FCM). Several aspects should be considered when determining the most appropriate method to use. Two protocols for measuring EVs are presented, using either individual detection or a bead-based approach.
