Anti-icam-2 Antibody

An anti-ICAM-2 antibody is an immunoglobulin that specifically recognizes intercellular adhesion molecule 2 (ICAM-2), a cell-surface protein involved in leukocyte adhesion and immune-cell interactions. By binding an epitope on ICAM-2, the antibody can label the molecule for detection or interfere with its interactions with integrins such as LFA-1, depending on its design and application. Researchers use anti-ICAM-2 antibodies in flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and cell-based adhesion studies to identify ICAM-2-expressing cells and investigate endothelial, hematopoietic, and inflammatory processes. These tools support studies of cell trafficking, immune regulation, and vascular biology.

Indirect immunofluorescent (IIF) assays have traditionally been used for the detection of antinuclear antibodies (ANA) in human serum. The presence of these antibodies can aid in the diagnosis of systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases (SARD). This protocol demonstrates how to effectively perform the IIF technique to accurately detect these autoantibodies.

2025

This video demonstrates an opsono-adherence assay for examining the interaction between opsonized bacteria and immune cells. Fluorescently labeled bacteria, treated with test serum containing anti-capsule antibodies, are incubated with macrophages. After staining the macrophages with fluorescence, the attached bacteria on the macrophage surface are observed under a microscope for visualization.

An In Vitro Method to Determine the Anti-Apoptotic Activity of Antibodies against TNFα

2025

This video demonstrates a technique for assessing the efficacy of antibodies against tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNFα), an inflammatory cytokine, through an in vitro bioanalytical approach. TNFα, when introduced to stressed cells, triggers apoptosis. However, binding to the antibodies confines TNFα, averting apoptosis. The degree of apoptosis is quantified using a bioluminescence assay.
