Culture Conditions

Culture conditions are the controlled environmental factors used to grow and maintain cells, tissues, or microorganisms outside their natural setting, making them essential for reproducible biological research. They regulate growth by supplying appropriate nutrients and controlling variables such as temperature, pH, osmolarity, oxygen or carbon dioxide levels, and sterility, which together influence metabolism, survival, and cell division. In biology, carefully defined culture conditions support cell culture, microbial cultivation, tissue engineering, and experimental models of disease. Standardizing these conditions improves data reliability and helps researchers investigate development, infection, drug responses, and other biological processes.
