In Vivo Documentation

In vivo documentation is the systematic recording of biological structure, function, or behavior in living organisms, preserving observations within their physiological context. It uses approaches such as live imaging, physiological measurement, behavioral observation, and time-stamped data capture to track changes over time under defined conditions. By connecting observations with experimental variables and controls, researchers can assess development, disease progression, treatment responses, and organismal adaptation. This evidence strengthens reproducibility in biology and helps reveal effects that may be altered when tissues are isolated, fixed, or studied outside the living system.
