3d Endoscope

A 3D endoscope is an imaging instrument that provides stereoscopic views of internal tissues, enabling depth perception during examination, surgery, and experimental cancer research. It uses two closely spaced optical channels or cameras to capture slightly different perspectives, which are combined into a three-dimensional image for improved visualization of tissue surfaces, lesions, and anatomical structures. In cancer research, 3D endoscopy supports tumor detection, biopsy guidance, treatment planning, and evaluation of surgical margins in minimally invasive procedures. By revealing spatial relationships that conventional two-dimensional endoscopy may obscure, it can improve anatomical assessment and help researchers study tumor development, intervention strategies, and clinical outcomes.

2025

Source: Wang, L., et.al. Full-Endoscopic Isolation Zone Technique for the Treatment of Lumbar Disc Herniation. J. Vis. Exp.(2023)This video demonstrates a minimally invasive endoscopic procedure to treat lumbar disc herniation by removing the protruded nucleus pulposus and ruptured annulus fibrosus. The technique decompresses the affected nerve root, alleviates pain, and restores nerve function through targeted tissue resection and radiofrequency modulation.
